The DuoFlick app is in Japanese. On this page, the names of its buttons and screens are given in Japanese, followed by an English translation.

Getting started

  1. Open Settings → Apps → DuoFlick → Keyboards and turn on DuoFlick. You can also get there from “キーボードの設定を開く” (Open keyboard settings) in the DuoFlick app.
  2. To use haptics and key sounds, also turn on Allow Full Access on the same screen.
  3. In any text field, touch and hold the globe key and choose DuoFlick.

Common questions

DuoFlick doesn’t appear when I press the globe key

Check that DuoFlick is turned on in Settings → Apps → DuoFlick → Keyboards. You can also add it in Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard.

I can’t use DuoFlick in password fields

In fields for passwords and similar information, iOS switches to the standard keyboard. This isn’t a bug in DuoFlick.

Saved passwords don’t show up as suggestions

Only the iPhone’s standard keyboard can suggest saved passwords and verification codes from Messages. Other keyboards, including DuoFlick, don’t have access to that feature.

In username, email, and verification code fields, a key icon with Passwords (or Code) appears in the middle of DuoFlick’s candidate bar. Tap it to switch to the next keyboard, where you can choose a saved password. In password fields, iOS switches to the standard keyboard automatically.

Key sounds don’t play

Key sounds need Full Access, and they don’t play when your iPhone is in Silent Mode. Also check that key sounds are on in “見た目と音” (Look and sound) in the app.

Is it safe to allow Full Access?

The DuoFlick keyboard never connects to the internet and never sends what you type anywhere. Full Access is used only for haptics and key sounds, and to save the side you choose with ⇄ on the keyboard (left, none, or right) to the app’s settings. For details, see the privacy policy.

Swiping left on the delete key doesn’t clear the whole line in some apps

The swipe can only delete the text the app shares with the keyboard (the text before the cursor). Some apps share only a short stretch of it.

I want to go back to the original layout

In “配置” (Layouts) in the app, choose a grip and pick one of the built-in layouts, such as “Duo・候補は中央” or “1面・候補は上”. You can also use “標準の配置から始め直す” (Start over from the standard layout) in the layout editor.

I want to delete a layout link I shared

Layouts shared as short links with “リンクで共有” (Share link) are deleted automatically about two years after they were last shared. To delete one sooner, contact us at the address below and include the link.

Contact

You can send bug reports, requests, and conversions you’d like to see from “要望・不具合を送る” (Send feedback) in the app. The app version and device model are attached automatically. We can’t reply to messages sent this way, so if you’d like a reply, email the address below.

When you email us, it helps to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the app where the problem happened.
